Catching kicks To Foot Sweeps

November 13th, 2010 | Posted by CrossMMAFitter in Wrestling For Fighting

When your opponent throws a kick to your midsection, you can either move backward to make your opponent miss, or you can block the kick with your shin by lifting your leg, or you can catch the kick. Assuming that kick is heading toward your midsection, you can eliminate the force behind it by moving forward, drop your level, wrap his leg with your arm and then execute the foot sweep. Once you trap your opponent’s leg you will have many take down options from the high single leg position.

Catching kicks requires a good timing.
