Head Lock
October 21st, 2010 | Posted by in GrecoWrestling headlock is a very effective takedown technique.
Starting with the left underhook and right overhook, capture your opponent in a headlock by wrapping your right arm around the left side of his head and clasp your hands together using the S-grip. Then turn your hip in a counterclockwise direction, forcing your opponent to step his left foot forward to maintain balance. Your goal is to get your opponent’s hips to the outside of your hips by pulling him hard enough to get him step outside of your centerline which will create a pocket of space between you and your opponent. Next back-step and slide your hip in that pocket , which will allow you to execute the throw.
