Beat Punching

August 10th, 2010 | Posted by CrossMMAFitter in Boxing Techniques

Most boxers throw combinations  to a specific set of rhythm or cadence . So  if you are used to a certain combinations, you opponent will be expecting the same set of punches. That’s the reason why you should  get used to break your cadence to confuse your opponent.  In the next drills we will be using the standard 1 2 3 4  combination. Without changing the order  of the punches  use the  dash ( -) as  a pause in rhythm:

  1. 1  2  3  4
  2. 1 – 2 3 4
  3. 12 — 34
  4. 123-4
  5. 1 – 2 -34
  6. 1 -2 3 – 4
