Shovel Hook
August 9th, 2010 | Posted by in Shovel HookThe punch is named after the shoveling motion of a combination of body uppercut and a body hook. The motion is as if you are throwing the dirt over your opposite shoulder. It’s not a lead punch. It’s used to target the ribs, solar plexus and the heart. It’s also used to mix up punches and keep your opponent guessing. The punch should be thrown at 45 degrees angle toward your opponent’s ribs.
Tight shovel hooks are more responsible for more KOs than any other body shot.
