Kangaroo hook

August 9th, 2010 | Posted by CrossMMAFitter in Kangaroo hook

The kangaroo hook was first developed by Gus D’amato and most effectively used by Floyd Patterson. It’s mainly used against tall opponents. The punch is thrown as a looping punch that could be easily blocked or countered. It’s basically a lead hook accompanied by a forward shuffling jump into your opponent.

Before firing you should crouch in your guard at the outside range and use maximum speed to surprise your opponent before him counter punching you. The strike can catch your opponent off guard if you are fast enough.
