Zinc is also good for skin health, wound healing and the immune system, and it is antioxidant. Ceramide compounds found in oysters inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells.
Oysters also contain a reasonable amount of essential omega-3 fats. They are rich in selenium for a healthy immune system and contain easily absorbed iron for energy and healthy blood.
Oysters need to be very fresh and , if eaten raw, they should be alive. When cooked, they loses some of their beneficial compounds.
