Thyme

The most important of these is thymol oil which boosts the effects of healthy omega-3 fats on the body. The oil in thyme is strongly antibacterial and protects us against food poisoning bugs .
There are over one hundred varieties of thyme, with the most common being Garden Thyme and Lemon Thyme. The many types are so close in appearance, it is often difficult to differentiate them.
Thyme helps protect us against the diseases of ageing and they are a good source of vitamin C and iron
