Fennel Seeds
June 2nd, 2010 | Posted by in 7 Herbs & SpicesFennel seeds come from both the fennel herb and the fennel vegetable bulb. They have long been regarded as an aid to weight loss because they are known to reduce appetite when consumed as fennel tea. Chewing them is a remedy for bad breath. They are also helpful for breastfeeding women, as they contain compounds that mimic oestrogen and therefore stimulate milk production.
Fennel can also treat flatulence, colic in babies and stomach cramps when used an infusion.
Fennel seeds should be avoided during pregnancy as they may overstimulate the uterus.
