Cumin Seeds

Small, brown cumin seeds are harvested from a herb belonging to the parsley family. Its has  warm flavour but not too hot.

The spice has been used since  ancient times – the Romans used it as an appetizer and digestive.

Cumin might also have an antioxidant powers and it may help to block cancer growth.

The seeds are rich in iron. Cumin is and antiseptic so and infusion of cumin with honey makes and ideal drink for people with sore throat.

Cumin seeds  retain their  aroma longer than ground cumin. They should be kept in airtight containers in cool, dry, dark conditions
