They are best eaten raw as cooking or processing them destroy some of these antioxidants, especially anthocyanins which are red and purple pigments that have been shown to help prevent both heart disease and cancers and may also prevent varicose veins.
Raspberries contain high levels of allergic acid, a compound with anticancer properties.They are also high in fibre, vitamin C and contain good amounts of iron which can be easily absorbed by the body thanks to high level of vitamin C .
Never wash raspberries before storing.
