They are less likely to produce an adverse or allergic response from eating them. They contain a range of useful nutrients and a good amount of fibre, which helps maintain a healthy colon.
Store unripe pears in a cool to moderately warm room.
Most of pear’s fibre is in the skin, so it’s best to wash the fruit and not peel it.
One average-sized pear contains:
- 60 kcalories
- 0.5 g protein
- 15 g carbohydrate
- 3.3 g fibre
- 9 mg vitamin C
- 225 mg potassium
