Lemon fruit is indispensable in many recipes. The fresh, acidic flavour of lemon juice enhances both sweet and savoury foods and dishes, while the peel can be used to add flavour. All parts of the lemon contains valuable nutrients and antioxidants. They  are also a good source of vitamin C and a plant compound antioxidants that include limonene – an oil that may help prevent breast cancer and lower ‘bad’  blood cholesterol.

Lemons stimulate the taste buds  and may be useful for people with poor appetite.

Lemons contain disinfecting and insecticide properties

Rutin content, found in lemons, may help strengthen  veins and prevent fluid retention, especially in the legs

You can get more juice from a lemon if you warm it for few seconds, in the microwave or in hot water
